Harrisburg, PA – John Lehman, who served as U.S. Navy Secretary from 1981-1987 under President Ronald Reagan, will speak on the subject of domestic energy and national security. Sec. Lehman is a member of the 9-11 Commission and believes that when it comes to energy, security begins at home. “I am committed to domestic energy production and energy diversity in Pennsylvania. I’ve seen the results of our dependence on imported energy, particularly from the middle east, and it forces us to commit blood and treasure in a region known for its instability and protracted conflict. Higher and more diverse energy production at home generates a future that is self-supported and less susceptible to overseas entanglements,” stated Sec. Lehman.
The event will take place on May 9, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Sec. Lehman’s farm in Bucks County. Chad Forcey and John Storey from the Pennsylvania Conservative Energy Forum (PennCEF) will also make remarks.

We believe that conservatives can and should have a strong voice in the energy debate, and that conservative solutions – more competition, less bureaucratic red tape in the way of homegrown clean and renewable energy – are an important part of solving national security challenges related to energy,” noted Chad Forcey, Executive Director of PennCEF.
The event will include a tour of Sec. Lehman’s solar installation, and will conclude by 2:00 p.m. There will be an opportunity for questions from the press.
