Watch the Virtual Town Hall with Rep. Kaufer – Community Solar Policy Status

Re-experience Pennsylvania Conservative Energy Forum’s (PennCEF) online discussion with Representative Aaron Kaufer on the status of community solar policy in Pennsylvania. Representative Kaufer has spent years working to advance community solar policy that will benefit the cause of clean and renewable energy in the Commonwealth by allowing businesses, residences and farms to share in a common solar installation. Estimates are that 2 billion dollars of investments are waiting for this enabling policy change.

State Representative Aaron Kaufer represents the 120th Legislative District, which includes Courtdale, Edwardsville, Exeter, Forty Fort, Kingston, Luzerne, Pringle, Swoyersville, West Pittston, West Wyoming and Wyoming boroughs, as well as Exeter, Jackson and Kingston townships in Luzerne County.

The 2019-20 legislative session marks Kaufer’s third term proudly serving the people of the 120th District. During this session, Kaufer was selected to be a member of the House Finance, Gaming Oversight, Health, and Transportation committees and has been a champion for community solar in Pennsylvania.

Chad Forcey has served in public policy since 1998, and has focused on conservation and small business growth throughout his career. He previously ran his own environmental consulting firm, and spent five years as State Affairs Director for the Irrigation Association (IA). At the IA, he fought to advance water conservation and efficient technologies across the 50 states. Chad built public/private partnerships in California and Texas to reduce potable water use during drought emergencies and increase the use of smart irrigation controllers, surface and sub-surface high efficiency systems in the landscape and agricultural sectors. Chad also represented the Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery Association for six years, where he drafted and implemented legislation on right to farm, immigration reform, and green infrastructure. He achieved an $11.6 billion federal appropriation for landscape revitalization, and secured $33 million for urban air and water quality projects in Philadelphia.

John Storey is the Harrisburg Director for the Pennsylvania Conservative Energy Forum. Prior to PennCEF, John served as Associate Director, Regional Director and Assistant Vice-President for the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). John developed and executed ACSI’s strategic efforts in professional development and leadership development.

Throughout his career, John has focused on his educational mission with an entrepreneurial spirit, developing the means and systems to take an organization from where it was and move it toward its potential. He has also served as a spokesman and advocate on behalf of education professionals and institutions before several state legislatures. John received his Bachelor’s Degree from Tennessee Temple University, his Masters from Villanova University, and his Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University.
